Kay Bojesen The monkey is a classic and a dear friend who moves with us throughout our lives – from the children’s room to becoming a beloved design icon in their own home.
The first Monkey saw the light of day in 1951 and is produced in the same way today as then.
Each figure is created by hand and processed in a Danish wood turning mill.
The famous Kay Bojesen Monkey was actually created when Kay Bojesen wanted to make a hook for his children, but instead he ended up making a world-renowned Danish design icon.
And with the cute figure, you don’t just get classic, Danish design from 1951.
You also get a unique Monkey from Kay Bojesen.
No two of them are alike. And when the popular figure is allowed to hang out – as it does in many homes – it will affect the shades of the wood and give the already unique Kay Bojesen Abe even more personality, as its expression and ‘personality’ develop over time.
